Date Topic
Friday 27th November URBAN NIGHTSCAPE EVENING An opportunity to practice taking pictures outside in the dark. Meet at the Guild at 7.30pm for 30 - 40 minutes of discussion, tips and and set up practice indoors. Then its out in groups around the local area to record the wonders of Wilmslow in the dark, the results can be taken along to the next critique night. I have found it best to keep kit to a minimum, I suggest one camera and maybe two lenses with hoods, a sturdy tripod, remote release, torch, a piece of card (about 7 x 5 inches is fine), spare battery & film !!!. A powerful flash or torch could be added if you want to try "painting with light". An umbrella may also be useful, don't be put off, wet weather often improves the image. In the event of really bad weather we will revert to Plan 2 (to be> announced). Hosted by Bill Salkeld
Friday 4th December Critique Night Bring along you prints or projected images for fellow members to critque, a fun night of help and adivice from members held the first Friday of each month throughout the season
Friday 11th December A Practical Introduction to High Speed Photography This session will briefly explain the methods, equipment and risks involved in taking high speed images. The introduction will be followed by a practical session that will give you the opportunity to take some interesting and fun high speed images that do not require an investment in specialised equipment. Those taking part in the practical session will need to bring their own camera and a sturdy tripod; a remote shutter release cable would be useful but is not essential. The camera will need to be operated in manual focus/exposure modes and have a lens with a focal length between 35mm and 70mm. Hosted by Peter Musgrave
